What you see
When you open your invite, you land on a short setup screen with three regions:- A welcome line that names the company that invited you, for example “Acme Studio invited you to receive payouts privately.”
- A sign-in panel offering a Stellar wallet or email.
- A registration card with your account status and a single button to register your confidential account.
Get set up
Open your invite
The invite link opens your setup screen. You see “[Company] invited you to receive payouts
privately,” so you know exactly who is paying you before you do anything.
Sign in with a wallet or email
Connect a Stellar wallet and sign the challenge, or sign in with your email. The email path
creates an embedded wallet for you, with no seed phrase to write down. Either way you get one
account that Confiroll routes to the contractor portal. See
Getting started.
Register your confidential account
This is a one-time on-chain setup that lets you receive private amounts. You sign it yourself,
so you stay in full self-custody, and Confiroll sponsors the fee, so it costs you 0 XLM. Your
status shows as Onboarding while it settles.
You are Ready
Your status flips to Ready and the company can pay you. From now on, any payout from any
company on Confiroll flows straight to your confidential balance without setting up again.
Why registration is required. A private payout is encrypted to your public viewing key, and
that key only exists on-chain once you have registered. Setting up before your first payout is
what gives the company something to encrypt to. Until you are Ready, there is no key to send a
confidential amount to.
Frequently asked questions
I don't have a wallet yet. Can I still get set up?
I don't have a wallet yet. Can I still get set up?
Yes. Sign in with your email and an embedded Stellar wallet is created for you automatically,
with no seed phrase to record. You can add or connect a self-custody Stellar wallet later if
you prefer to manage your own keys directly.
Does any of this cost me money?
Does any of this cost me money?
No. Registration is an on-chain action, and Confiroll sponsors the network fee, so you pay
0 XLM. You do not need any XLM in your wallet to get set up or to receive payouts.
How long does setup take?
How long does setup take?
A couple of minutes. Signing in is instant, and registering your confidential account is a
single signature that settles on-chain in seconds. Once it settles, your status flips to
Ready and you can be paid.
What if I lose access to my wallet?
What if I lose access to my wallet?
Because you self-custody, Confiroll cannot restore your keys. Keep your wallet backup safe. If
you signed in with email, keep access to that login. If you do lose access, you register a new
confidential account on a new wallet and ask the company to pay that account going forward.
Can I use my company email instead of a crypto wallet?
Can I use my company email instead of a crypto wallet?
Yes. Email sign-in is a first-class path. It creates and secures an embedded wallet for you
behind your login, so you get the same private balance, fee-free payouts, and withdrawals
without ever touching a seed phrase.
